Sky-High 2012

Sky-High is the IAS's annual Irish Astronomy Almanac. It is now in its 20th year, since its first edition for 1993. The core sections deal with events in the sky for the year ahead. Also included are a selection of different articles from year to year.

Sky-High 2012 Update

23 Dec 2011: Comet P/2006 T1 Levy was recovered as a 17th magnitude object in mid December 2011. Unless the comet has an outburst, it should only be a very faint object (of 15th magnitude) at best, in January.

Erratum:
29 Feb 2012, Page 16 for asteroid 5 Astraea: Delete the second sentence "It is then in Cetus, on the border of Aries, 1.5° N of 4.3 magnitude star Xi2 Ceti."
and substitute "It is then in Leo, on the border of Virgo, 3/4° W of 5.3 magnitude star Omega Virginis.".
