Muriel Curtis (M
Ed), Director of Station Maine, taught Music, English, and Social
Studies in the public school system before she (literally) answered
an ad in a magazine inviting trainees to sail on "tall ships".
That began the next chapter of her life, ten years under sail,
during which she became one of the first women in the country
to earn a USCG 100 ton Aux Sail Captain's license. Her passion for education and
the sea come together with Station Maine where she lives to encourage
others to be more than they thought they could be. |
